Kanye West To Drop Another Album This Summer

Kanye West lives in the studio. After releasing a great number of tracks for "G.O.O.D. Fridays", creating a full album LP for MBDTF, finishing a collaborative album with Jay Z, "Watch The Throne"... Mr. West is back once again promising another album which will debut this Summer. That is a--- lot of music in one year, good ass job Yeezy.

Drake Getting Back Into Acting

Drake is returning to acting, not Degrassi but a new movie - a thriller called Arbitrage. The cast of the indie movie includes Susan Sarandon and Eva Green, but there is no word on who Drake would play as of yet. The story centers around a "hedge fund magnate who is in over his head and desperate to complete the sale of his shady trading empire to a major bank before his fraud is revealed." Production starts in March.

An update on J. Cole's album, r&b singer Miguel has recently spoken out about his involvement in Jermaine's upcoming album! Miguel and Cole have collaborated once before on "All I Want Is You". This is probably the first time someone has gone public about J. Cole's upcoming untitled album which remains much of a secret. He was quoted saying that he is featured on one of Cole's songs and that he thinks the fans will like what they hear:

“I’ve been working on something specifically for [J. Cole's album]. He sent me something maybe a month ago. “It sounds exactly like what his fans love him for—storytelling, wit, and just a really smooth flow. As far as what I’ve done to it, it’s really playful. The chorus reminds me of a Passion Pit song. I don’t know why. I haven’t sent it back yet. It’s more melodies than a full voice.”

That is exactly what Eminem and Shady Records' plans are going into the 2011 year with the signing of some of the premire hard hitting gritty rappers Slaughterhouse (which includes Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9") and up n comer Yelawolf. XXL will feature The New Shady Records on the March 2011 Issue as you can see the cover up above.

Eminem broke the news to XXL stating “Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse, it’s kinda phase two of Shady,” he explained. “It’s the new generation of Shady Records and as we’re trying to rebuild our label, it’s exciting for hip-hop and with all of these forces coming together and with what everybody’s capable of on the mic, it’s gonna be fun.”

Yelawolf expressed excitement and gratitude upon hearing the news: “Considering where I’m from and the shit I’ve been through, it’s hard to put into words what partnering with Shady means to me, my team at Ghet-O-Vision, and my state of Alabama,” he said. “I can tell you that when you’re willing to give your life up to see a dream through, the reward is great. And now that I’ve become an apprentice to one of the greatest artists in the world, my potential reaches beyond anything I ever imagined. Let’s kill this shit.”

Looking forward to some new material from the supergroup Slaughterhouse, and Yelawolf as they try to make their stamp on the hip hop game via expansion and new music, but will it be enough to dethrone Lil Wayne's Young Money or Kanye's G.O.O.D. music?
