According to someone who was at the keynote speech Lupe did yesterday Lupe told the audience why Atlantic is delaying his album... I hope this lights the fire of some of those Fiasco Friday protesters on the 15th, this is uncalled for.
He said Atlantic wanted him to sign a contract that would give them 25% of anything he makes from shows or deals with other companies like Nike or whatever. He told them no so they threatened him by not pushing any of his new songs on the radio or given him money to make the videos (the I'm beamin' video came out of his own pocket). Also they basically don't like his music or they way he put it 'they think I'm whack'. So Atlantic sent him hooks they wanted him to do. He records them and sends them back but they didn't like them anymore and tried to have him change the hooks like 60 different times. In the end he had had enough.

If anything fuck atlantic...been delaying "real" talent for too long. If anything Lupe should sign with G.O.O.D Music. Him and Kanye are in good terms already, so I see no hold back.
he needs to just give in and put out music fuck it. lupe has to realize that hes not big enough to just go against a major music business like that.
This situation gets me more pissed every day. I wanted to hear "Army girl" in it's entirety for over a year now, and Lasers album. It just seems it will never happen. Why so greedy Atlantic? Why do labels treat their talent like slaves. SMH, ppl should stay indie. This is stupid.
The same thing is happening with Chamillionaire and Universal and as much as I hate to say it, Chamillionaire has been more of a "commercial" success than Lupe yet Universal refuses to release his 3rd album "Venom" instead they just keep delaying it and sending him back to the drawing board to redo the album every 3 months or so 'cause their not happy with it.
I wish Lupe's situation would get sorted out and he would go to G.O.O.D. but I just don't see it happening anytime soon 'cause Lupe doesn't have the capital to buy out his contract but if he can reach a compromise with Atlantic i.e.) accepting to give a cut of the profits from his shows to the label in exchange to get out of his contract earlier, however I don't think that'll happen either 'cause the label has all the leverage right now. Lupe needs to get himself a good lawyer to find an out clause.
All u ppl that say give in are weak. For decades the rich abuse the poor in order to get what they want. History shows that the power is in the people. We can help Lupe overcome this. So stop having a lazy mindset and support this man in his fight.

i agree as long lu willing to fight his fans should be too. Greed is taking over america from the industry to the politicians. cornel west said it starts with the strongest of the "weak" we have to fight for what we believe in and stop giving up so easily.
I dont think Lupe should give in...but he doesnt have much support..."The Cool" went gold, I know I bought my copy, and I'm all the way from the Bahamas...but that's 500,000 people who bought that album!!! Lupe has 200,000 twitter followers! WHY is it ONLY 30,000 signed the petition? WHY is it ONLY 1,000 rsvp'd for the protest? I cant afford to fly to the US and protest, so I apologize for that...but there should be hundreds of thousands of people out there that can really show Atlantic what's up!!!
