How did you get down with Lupe’s supergroup, All City Chess Club?
I talked to Lupe on the phone about the crew. He’s the head honcho with All City Chess Club. He really just gave me call on the random one day [laughs]. For some reason, I thought it was Bilal. But we chopped it up for a while. And a little while later he shot me the “I’m Beaming (Remix)” to get on there. I’m still waiting and wanting to lay some verses with them. I’m definitely down with recording an album.

KiD CuDi Says He's "Not Passionate About Rapping Anymore," Starts Rock Album
It's going to be interesting seeing Kid Cudi transition from rap to rock being that his style, at least to me, is more chill/harmonic than anything. The cudder admits that he just isn't passionate about rap anymore and that he just started to learn how to play guitar. A couple other artists that have transitioned from rap to rock or at least experimented it are Lil Wayne and Lupe Fiasco.

MTV's Hottest MC's top 5 breakdown
MTV has brought us the final 5 people for its Hottest MC in the game list, and here it is:
- Eminem
- Jay-Z
- Kanye West
- Drake
- Rick Ross
Now this list is deceiving because MTV did have things a little differently, but as a result of some on spot debating Kanye went from 4 to 3 ahead of Drake and Eminem moved up to number 1 over Jay-Z after yet another vote. Now lets break it down from 5 all the way down to one...

5. Ricky Rozay came into this year as the hottest thing in Miami, but since then he has produced hit after hit, produced impressive guerrilla style videos, and rose to the upper echelon in the rap community. His smooth style and slick verses make you feel richer than you are and make you want to enjoy the finer things in life. Rick Ross' album Teflon Don opened at number two, falling victim to Eminem at number one. Whats more telling than the first week numbers are the hits and features all over it. With spots from Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, John Legend, TI, Trey Songz and Diddy in addition to others. Maybach Music Group has risen as a result of Ross and dare I say with TI getting incarcerated again, is Ross the new king of the South? He's getting my vote, I like this spot at number 5, look for him to be making moves to slide up in next years poll.
4.Drizzzy Drakee
Last years hottest bidding war turned into one of this years biggest superstars. Drake dropped his first album to warm reception, selling over 400,000 copies in the albums first week. What makes Drake so hot is his versatility, you can find him on almost any type of song, and his verse is going to kill it (just look at his features with Bun B, Jay, Lil Wayne, and his R&B records, he is the most versatile artist out there). The hype over Thank Me Later was insane before its eventual leak and release. Looking back Drake had this summer on lock down, yea Em put in the biggest record of the year according to sales, but I don't think any album has been quoted over twitter, facebook, and more anticipated in a long time. Remember back in March when a Drake song leaked and it was the hottest ish on the net, even when it was unfinished, or an album throw away, Drake controlled the game and with the help of Nicki Minaj, kept Young Money in the mainstream during Lil Wayne's absence. Anyone see the line-up at OVO fest? You'll see where he ranks in my top 5 below.
3. KanYe West
This is where things got really interesting on the video of them deciding who should be in the top 3. People debated Kanye should be higher because of GOOD fridays and well thats it. Kanye was virtually invisible until May of this year when he dropped Power featuring Dwele and from there the whole thing took off. Kanye came out of his shell and in the latter part of 2010 you cant seem to get away from Kanye West. His album and movie have swarmed blogs and music news sources everywhere. When your album cover garner's attention from damn near everybody and every little detail of your life is beening followed, how is Kanye not even higher up on the list? He went from virtual anonymity to a dominating closing performance at a very lack luster VMA's (Thanks Chelsea Handler). Ye's album is going to be one of the best albums of the year at the least, and I see the potential for a top album of all time.
2. Jay-Z
Jigga has been one of the most consistent rappers of the past decade, coming in as the number 3 rap artists of all time according to sales (behind Tupac Shakur and Eminem). Jay was relatively silent this year, but was able to attach himself onto some of the biggest records and hottest artists of the year. Doing verses on Drake's, Rick Ross' and Kanye's upcoming album, and doing a tour with the biggest artist of the year Eminem, Jay has managed to stay more than relevant. He has even signed on to help with U2's 360 tour in Australia and New Zealand. Jay and Kanye even have a full album in the works tentatively titled Watch the Throne (extended from an EP) and has been rumored to be putting out another sequel to the Blueprint series. This has been a big year for Jay, but after taking number one last year, and with the hype that will be coming in next year, is Jay really the number 2 hottest artist of this year?
1. Eminem
Hip hop's most wicked, vile rhyme slayer has returned to the spot that I personally have been waiting for. Eminem last year put out a so-so album that still outsold Jay-Z's the Blueprint 3, used genius internet tactics to market the album, and yet shady came back even stronger. Eminem's recovery record sold over 700,000 copies in its first week, and has since sold well over 2.7 million copies. He had 2 number one hits in Not Afraid and Love the Way You Lie, kept Rhianna relevant despite abysmal album numbers, and was even featured on Airplanes pt. 2 with B.o.B. and Hayley Williams. Eminem has risen to the point where he can sell-out stadium shows, where his best songs don't just get radio play, but instead become anthems. Shady has done it all, and come back from near death to be the number one hottest artist in the game. If he wants to keep that title, he's going to have a lot to work to do, the rest of top 5 is gearing up for an insane 2011, and let's not forget The Carter 4 should drop at some point soon enough.
So there ya have it folks, MTV's top 5, debatable at best here is my personal top 5:
- Eminem - This should be everyone's
- Kanye West - Have you seen Runaway yet? Even better watch the post show interview on MTV.
- For the record these guys are tied at 2- Drake - He is still releasing records and getting features, R&B mix tape coming soon
- Jay-Z- only in anticipation for the next year

Video: Drake x Jay-Z “Light Up 2″?
Drake spoke with J-Rod of MTV about a potential "Light Up 2." One of the tracks that was a complete stud when Drake released his debut album Thank Me Later earlier this year.
"I probably wouldn’t title it ‘Light Up 2,’ but there could definitely be potential for a record where me and Jay just spit about life,” Drake told MTV News. “I look forward to making that. I don’t think I’m ready to do it yet, though. If me and Jay do another record … I just want it to be a song. I don’t necessarily want it to be a life/time marker. I would love to do a song with Jay that hits radio. I’d love to do something that’s more musical, as opposed to all that rapping. And plus, I don’t feel like I’m in that veteran category. Like, now that I’m here six months later, after we did that song. Things happen pretty quick over here on this side, but I don’t necessarily want to reflect that in song." - Drake

Okay, so there has been this Kanye West track titled “Never See Me Again” that I have been hearing about. Rumor has it that this was actually recorded the following week after the whole Taylor Swift microphone snatching incident. The track features Kanye West ranting for over eight minutes about never seeing him again. Anyway that's besides the point. Jay Z hosted an event and The 305 were at hand to capture some of the nights highlights at Jay-Z’s Decoded at the Delano in Miami last night.
Decoded will be available in bookstores on November 16.

He had alot of things to talk about including: Kanye West, the right timing to release his project, his mother's support, collaborating with Mike Posner on a future project and when asked about having the same album title as trick daddy he had some interesting things to say.

So apparently this is artwork number 1, as we said before Kanye West's upcoming album will have 5 different album covers. I like this one, it's the type of cover that'll pop out from the rest when viewing the music section in any store. Looking forward to seeing what other idea's Ye has for his album. But it does look like the red will be here to stay.

Lupe Fiasco vs MTV
Just in case you were wondering what's been going on w/ Lupe and MTV on twitter here's the breakdown.. MTV wrote an article that insulted Lupe, as would any rapper, by giving him "tips" to be successful. Oh the irony of that article smh.. Here's an excerpt:

One of my favorite video's from Yeezy, I hope he comes through with this thought. Here's what he had to say:
“Flashing Lights’ is my favorite piece of work that I’ve done. The pacing, people are always like, ‘Where is the rest of it?’ But we didn’t have the time or whatever or the money to do the rest of it. But I might do the rest of it, the beginning and the end. Two years from now, I might give you the whole ‘Flashing Lights’ video, put ‘I Wonder’ in it, ‘Say You Will’ and songs that I feel like doing.”

First Alicia now Beyonce... sigh. The NYPost reports:
U.S. pop sensation Beyonce Knowles is expecting her first child with rapper husband Jay-Z, Us Weekly reported Wednesday. "B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet," said a source close to the singer. "She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again." Another insider said Beyonce believed "this is a gift from God and she's so happy." Celebrities were already starting to pass on congratulations to the couple, who have not yet confirmed the news. "Jay has been all about family since I met him, and he's always going to be," record executive Kevin Liles told Us Weekly. "I wish them the best." - NYPost

MTV's Hottest MC In The Game List: Coming At # 8 - Waka Flocka

Our very own B.o.B comes in at the number 9 spot for MTV's Hottest MC's in ihe Game List. Well deserved, Congrats Bobby Ray!
It wasn’t until this past February, when he dropped the LRG-sponsored mixtape May 25th, that things started to really take off. The tape featured the Bruno Mars-assisted single “Nothin’ on You,” which was instantly embraced by radio. The song hit #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and sold more than 2 million copies.
He duplicated that success with “Airplanes,” featuring Paramore’s Hayley Williams, which spent a staggering 26 weeks on the Hot 100, peaking at #2. It even spawned a remix with a reinvigorated Eminem, which helped launch Marshall Mathers back into the public eye.
B.o.B’s two hit singles actually made Grand Hustle release the Atlanta MC’s debut LP, The Adventures of Bobby Ray, an entire month before it was set to hit stores. It sold 84,000 copies its first week and debuted at #1 on the Billboard albums chart, selling more than 400,000 units since.
He also released the T.I. and Playboy Tre-assisted single “Bet I,” which let fans know he wasn’t all pop looks. B.o.B stole the show on Slim Thug’s “So High” and guested on the remix of Cali Swag District’s dance hit “Teach Me How to Dougie.” Additionally, one of the songs from May 25th, “F— the Money” with Asher Roth, became something of an underground hit, even while B.o.B was crossing over into the top 40.
B.o.B rounded out his year by winning a Teen Choice Award for “Airplanes,” performing at the VMAs and BET Hip-Hop Awards and scoring an “MTV Unplugged” special. He headlined his own Shootin for Stars Tour over the summer, appeared at Lollapalooza, opened for Jay-Z and Eminem’s Home and Home concert series, and is set to tour the U.K. with Paramore in November. And, finally, he’s a spokesperson for Adidas.
