Some great news if you're a fan of the Cali emcee, Blu. SC reports: His unreleased first album, finally mastered with the added tracks from Blu’s unreleased The Godlee Barnes LP, now appears to be set for sale in February 2011 via Nature Sounds Records [having had an initial release date of August 2010].
‘Now signed to Warner Brothers at work on his major label debut, the emcee/producer will formally unveil his unreleased debut, Her Favorite Colo(u)r. Nature Sounds Records is poised to release Blu’s mid-’00s album, featuring acts such as TiRon, Sene and Strange Fruit Project’s Myth. Aside from one song, the entire album is produced by Blu,’ report HipHopDX.
“Every project I approach, I don’t want it to sound like anything else,” Blu said in a statement. “I feel like I’m going to be producing a lot longer than I’ll be rapping.”

New Music: XV – A Night to Remember (prod. Seven)
This song was recorded for the original Kid with the Green Backpack album back in 2008. I can’t even remember where I found the sample from but it had a really unique melody to me so I flipped it and supported it with some different analog synths I was using on that album. We went back in towards the end of the sessions for that album and I threw some talkbox parts on the end of it. We used to refer to this as “the prom song” because the mood to us was like 1984 Napolean Dynamite high school prom meets Superbad craziness! Which would have made for a really dope visual! – Seven

Freestyle Fridays on 106 & Park use to be a legit operation, selecting the best of the undiscovered in talent. Now we have YouTube for that, but I digress. Remember Jin? Anyways, fast forward to now and it's become a novelty sport for okay rappers. Until yesterday. You can make your own opinion but this cat Blind Fury was probably the best contestant they've had in a while. And he beat the champion, whose past performances I didn't catch, but still seemed unfit for Fury's assault.
Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch To Become A Music School
TMZ reports: Colony Capital wants to develop a business plan to turn Neverland into a small music institute -- similar to The Juilliard School in NYC. The plan is to teach teens all aspects of music, including writing and performing.
Colony wants to turn the property into a campus, in which scores of teenagers -- rich and poor -- can learn the trade that made Michael Jackson a legend.
There are two big stumbling blocks. The first is making sure Santa Barbara County will sign off on such a project.
The second -- and bigger issue -- is whether Colony Capital can use Michael Jackson's name to promote such an institute. TMZ has good news for Colony .... sources directly connected with the Michael Jackson Estate tell us, "It's an interesting idea and we'd be open to it."

We all seen Em in '8 Mile' but now it looks like he'll play an important role in a new n upcoming film entitled "Southpaw", a boxing film that touches on life's tragedies and triumphs.
DreamWorks has made a preemptive acquisition of Southpaw, a pitch for a star vehicle for Eminem (Marshall Mathers) that will be written by Sons of Anarchy creator/exec producer Kurt Sutter. Like in Eminem’s 2002 screen starring debut 8 Mile, Southpaw will be fueled by the struggles that inform Eminem’s music and mirror his life. Eminem will play a fast-rising welterweight boxer who brawls his way to the title, only to see his world crash down around him due to tragedy.
